Do you know better?

In my previous post, Yuki was given supplements by the vet to normalize her urine.
She also prescribed giving Yuki dextrose powder. I told her that Yuki and Danie shares the same drinking water and she said I must give Danie the same.
Two days ago, I noticed that Danie's poop became softer. I knew then it was the dextrose powder. Yuki is in no health danger and Danie is far from being sick. believe they don't need the dextrose powder so I quit adding the powder to their drinking water.
Guess what? Danie's poop came back to normal. Sometimes, mom's instinct is way much better than the vet. Not saying I know all, but sometimes, I just know what works for my fur babies.

Yeah, it was to complement with the kidney supplement she gave Yuki but when I told her that Danie shares the same drinking water with Yuki, I was surprised that she insisted I gave them both!

I was convinced before I left for the trip that my cat was very sick, but he was perfectly fine while we were gone, and is normal now. Sometimes I think we worry too much about our pets, at least I do. I am really glad now I didn't take him to the vet. I would have had to have paid a boatload of money and they would probably have given meds or food he didn't really need.

Right and I believe Yuki was given meds and supplement she really didn't need at all but I need to be sure she was ok and the only way I'd stop worrying is if I take her to the vet.
The thing is, it's a new vet. My previous vet is now too far away. She was far way much better and knew me too well. She would never recommend supplements to my dogs. In fact when Danie was pregnant the first time and I asked if I needed to switch dog food, she told me there's no need to coz I was giving Danie the best dog food ever.

Something to soften the stool is always a good thing. Glad to hear Danie's poop is back to normal. Vets are just playing it by ear while you are around them 24/7 and know better.

It's sugar that's sweeter than sugar to boost dog's energy and to avoid dehydration. But none of my babies are suffering from those.
