Flamingos are among the birds who know exactly how to put on the moves when they choose to mate. In their courtship dance both the females and the males participate with displays that look like they are choreographed. Females evaluate males based on their dance performance and health. After all this dancing is over and mating has occurred, they have only one baby per breeding season, and both parents take responsibility.

Mating rituals are quite complicated things to work out what's going on.
