How did this happen?

Today I got an email from my Mattress Firm credit card thanking me for updating my account.
They let me know that my mailing address has been updated.
I never did such a thing.
I logged in to my online account and it shows an updated address, which is where I currently live.
I had no intention of updating my address as I have no idea how long I will live at the new address.
I recently did a mail forwarding thing with the post office so am assuming that’s how my address was updated with the credit card.
However, it’s weird that it was done.
I’ve never heard of such a thing.
I wonder if I should contact the credit card about this.

It's weird what info they gleen and how things like this get done. The bank may be able to tell you for sure how the change was made.

I would contact the credit card people.

That is weird, probably the mail forwarding thing like you said but still kinda unsettling to see it change without you doing it. I'd call the credit card just to be safe, better to check than let it slide. Good thing you caught it though, some people wouldn't even notice.
