So I was walking through the mall on my way to the guitar section, where my son was waiting for me. I was scanning the crowd, trying to find him, and the moment I saw him, my face just lit up.
Then he said, “You looked really unapproachable back there. Not until you saw me, though.”
And I thought, aren’t we all? 
I mean, it would actually be kinda strange if I saw someone walking around the mall smiling for no apparent reason. Like… who just walks around smiling at strangers? Kinda creepy, no?

A scary person. When I walk on the streets, in the mall, and in public places. I don't even look at anybody at all. I just walk.
That's why I was labeled as "suplada."

I tend to smile when I make eye contact with a stranger, because I don’t want to appear unfriendly, but I also don’t make a lot of solid eye contact with strangers. It would feel weird. In Oklahoma, though, we are very friendly. It’s just our way. But not creepy friendly.
