Former students who want to follow my social media

Teachers are not allowed to have students on their personal social media accounts. Some sports teams and clubs have Instagram accounts but they are usually run by students. In any case they are about school-related things. I have some former students on my FB. I'm pretty selective about who I approve though. We *can* have them on our accounts after they graduate but I think that is just too soon for comfort. They are all still in contact with each other so I wouldn't put it past them to be sharing things that I post. I usually will approve them after a few years. . . but to a select group. My very good friend's son graduated from our school in June. He would come visit me on bathroom duty every day. He is a good kid inside but he has been quite a challenge for his mother and he doesn't always make the best decisions. I wouldn't put it past him to start copying pictures of me from my account and Photoshopping stupid $hit onto them to then go on and share them with his former classmates. He requested to follow my Insta earlier this week. Nope. He can try again in a couple of years. Another former student just friend requested me on FB. He was "me" for Freaky Friday his senior year--when students take over your classes for the day. I know he likes me but he also is immature so he goes in the same category as my friend's son. Maybe later. There are teachers in the building who have active students on their social media. They are just dumb.
