I added an aromatherapy diffuser to the classroom

It is nice having my own room again because I can make it MINE and not have to worry about stepping on anyone else's toes. I have plants. I have my picture of my dad. I have my whole snack stash and Keurig in the prep room. I'll add plenty of more things along the way I'm sure. As I walked past the lobby for the past couple of weeks I smelled some kind of fragrance. I had to go to the nurse's office to give them an updated list of my medications and I saw that they had an aromatherapy diffuser/humidifier in there. I stopped by my work BFF's room and she had one on her desk. I was like "eff it--if the nurses' office of all things can have one then I can too". For years we were told we couldn't have plug-ins due to potential allergies. Well either it is allowed now or admin just hasn't caught on. But they had to have if there's one in the lobby and one in the nurses' office. It was cheap--like $35 for the machine and 10 vials of aromatherapy oils. I set it up 1st period and the students voted for the vanilla oil. They liked it. . . at least the girls in the front did. The kids in the back said they couldn't smell anything. It is right next to my desk in the front of the room so at least I will enjoy it. If admin complains then I'll be happy to bring it here. I was hoping the fragrance would spread further. I didn't get to read the instructions though so there might be a way to adjust that. I'll figure it out on Monday.
