Shush ….don’t tell The Mister what I did …..

Well, for tea tonight I made spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread and grated Parmesan.
The Mister had to pop round to my Moms to get the trimmer so that he could cut the tree in our front garden , so i seized my chance !
I went into the garden and picked a courgette !
Okay, so I admit it’s my garden too and I have grown the courgettes, so I hadn’t done anything wrong !
The naughty bit was yet to come….
I sliced and very very very finely diced the courgette…..and added it to the Spag Bol mix.
So far The Mister has refused to eat my courgettes, saying he doesn’t like them ….well, dearest friends …..he liked that one, as he ate it all up. AND …..he asked for seconds !
Cunning and crafty I may be ….but he enjoyed it !

@traceyjayne Naughty! Courgettes is very easy to chop into matchstick and thereby conceal within a meal. I’ve been doing it for years with my kids.

@xFiacre , yes I’ve done it with the Grandkids a few times. Granddaughter is generally very good and likes fruit and veggies. Grandson not do much.

You tricky lady! But good for you! He got some fresh healthy yumminess in his meal, and he didn’t even have to worry about not liking it. Because you know guys; as soon as you tell them you sneaked something in the recipe they’ll suddenly think of something they didn’t like.

@AmbiePam …..exactly right. It was the same with a keema pie I made …..just an Indian version of cottage pie ….he loved it and had an extra portion, but when he saw my recipe book open and found out it was from a ‘ slimming book ‘ , oh dearie me, he suddenly didn’t like it at all….
I am going to be sneaking courgette into a lot of things from now on. Maybe I will even tell him one day …. Or maybe not !
