The windows are closed and the humidifier is back in action

Oh summer please come back. I miss you!
With this storm and colder temperatures I had to close all of the windows. I turned the heat on but I haven't heard it kick on just yet. I also busted out my big humidifier that I keep in the hallway. It helps to make things more comfortable and to prevent nosebleeds which unfortunately now is a thing due to the low platelet issue. I add a "stress relief" essential oil blend to the water because, well, why not? It can't hurt. I probably should have 2 of them in here but 1 is better than none.
I think I wrote yesterday that I also ordered an aromatherapy humidifier--the same one I got for my classroom. That one isn't going to make a huge difference in terms of moisture but the fragrances will be nice. I learned a bit about aromatherapy when I was on my spa retreat so just having pleasant scents will make the environment more calming. We can all use that.

Hands down you've got me beat this season.
We keep the windows closed at night, but they are open during the day, which I am sure that yours would be if it were not for the storm, and I did dig out a nice thick quilt for the bed, but no furnace yet.
It is usually almost furnace time come our Thanksgiving, which is the second Monday of October, so it isn't far off, but the fact that it is during another month, makes it feel like longer.
I am very interested in aromatherapy. I got my toes wet last spring when I was out west and a perfumer put on a workshop for us to make our own perfume, which of course is made from essential oils. That was the most interesting few hours I have spent in a very long time.

I like a gentle scent. Some of those diffusers are like falling into a vat of fragrance oil, though.

I could use a humidifier come winter though because I tend to get nosebleeds in winter. I always have.
