Hitting 60 … next step 61, some are already there !

So I turned 60 in January ( you don’t look 60 I hear you cry ….why thank you very much , I reply !)
Our school year in England goes from September to August.
Turning 60 was obviously a milestone …any Birthday ending with a 0 is a milestone…
But, to me, I don’t feel old !
60 seems great.
However, some of the friends that I went to school with are now celebrating being 61 ….thats sounds old to me..yet I will be there in 4 months myself….
Where has the time gone !
What age seems old to you ?

60:is young now compared to when our grand parents were 60
I could tell you if you feel old.
The time has gone and won't be back that's for sure
I will be 66 in December
Some kids on my class were 18 months older than me
And we had one kid who had been kept back three times so he is 70 now
What age seems old to me now?
Honestly I have no idea

I think of 60 year olds as with grey hair, wrinkles …and ….old
I am not like that at all.
I think seeing my school mates , that our year group have aged really well ….most could pass for being in their 40’s ….

@Ineeddentures I look at myself in the mirror and I know I don’t look 60.
People I meet tell me I don’t look 60.
I don’t feel 60

I think we can only compare ourselves with previous generations from our own memories

Maybe not even 80
I know a lot of 80 year old people in our town who are doing really.well.
I think it's different for everyone
And I am not sure of we can really generalise
But 90 is old lol generally speaking even thoughI just said we can't.really.generalise

Girl, I thought thirty was old, and I’m 45 now.
My dad is 71, and my stepmom is almost 72, but I honest to goodness don’t think of them as old. To be real, I seem to go by looks. My best friend’s dad is a year younger than my own dad. I think of him as old because he looks way older than he is. Whereas my dad looks and acts younger than he really is.

A lot does depend on how you look and your outlook on life …a youthful , cheerful outlook I think keeps you looking young.

Maybe 75 but as I get older I might revise that. You know how when you are young you think something like 40 is old, but then when you get there, it certainly does not seem old.

Since I turned 50 I’ve decided that “old” is 25 years older than I am. So that makes “old” about 91 right now.

@traceyjayne A woman once lamented to me “Oh I feel old”. Without thinking I replied in jest “If I were old would you feel me?” And only realised what I’d said once it was out. I didn’t know her well enough for that kind of comment and I was mightily embarrassed. Becoming 60 was great for me and life just keeps getting better. I’m 67 and three halves now and life is wonderful.
