Like Douglas MacArthur, I have returned

Like an ill wind, I have returned to myLot though I don't know how much time and energy to give it. Obviously I am not dead but understand why people may have thought so considering the timing of my exit. I never intended a 6 year plus absence. In May 2020, covid had exploded and this site was overwhelmed with posts concerning covid and other issues irritating me. The site ceased to be a fun diversion sorely needed at the time so I decided to take a hiatus. A breather figuring all would blow over by fall. It didn't and covid raged for years with the aftermath creating a world worse than before.
In the meantime, out of sight out of mind. My time went to other pursuits. I worked online at the more lucrative Mechanical Turk which was tedious but easy to earn $ and requiring less time than myLot. It's good to reduce screen time and my reading real books greatly increased. Occasionally I thought of myLot but didn't have the mindset to properly deal with. I always figured to return someday provided the site still existed. myLot is habit forming and even addictive and I replaced it with other habits.
I started pondering myLot this year and now is the time to see how it goes. I am amazed how many familiar names are still here. fourwalls has not run out of musical lists. April is still April. The first thing I did was delete all my ancient posts creating a clean state. Boy, did I post a lot of box office bombs.
One desires a more casual approach not falling into compulsive habit but a six year backlog musical lists presents the temptation of hours long songfest.

Glad to see you back, there are a few of us diehards still around, although plenty have left. It is just kind of a skeleton crew here now. It is a fun place to be, and although the little bit of cash is nice, most aren't here for the money. There are other sites for that.

Mechanical Turk ended after 21 years so earning money online is very elusive now. I always considered this site as fun and informative while earning a few pennies.

If anything I have become even more Aprily. We have greatly missed you. I have talked fondly and often of you. I’m sure you had notifications of me tagging you at least several times. Welcome back.

I would be disappointed if you weren't more Aprily matching my sarcasm with your sarcasm. Fun.

Welcome back John, a six year break is a long time but it sounds like you found good things to do with it. I get what you mean about myLot being habit forming, it pulls you in without you noticing. Glad you're giving it another try, and hope the music lists don't swallow too many of your hours.

April said just last night -no joke- that she missed you. Loads of people over the years have. And, I’m so glad you are back. I remember the constant dire news on here with Covid going strong. Then ages of tedious political posts. Hopefully, we can keep you around now for a bit. Thank you for returning!

I like real world issues to at least be minor and the fun be dominant.

JR, it is wonderful that you are here.
It is such a relief, because as you wrote, we didn't know the reason for your departure.
You have been missed more than I can say, missing your humour and hit echoed even louder during the dark days following covid ever since.
But.....thankfully you are alive and well.
I hope that your next post tells me about a movie that I need to watch, like I always counted on you in the past.
