Farewell Petunia

I have a fairly long planter box that sits under our bedroom window.
I had planted some pretty pink and white petunias in it this year. We could actually see them from the bed if the shade wasn't pulled. They looked so bright and colourful.
Yesterday I noticed that the majority of the plants were brown. It was only the top leaves and blooms that were not. So, I just dug out the plants and threw them out.
I have some autumn sedum along the back side of that planter. I noticed some of the leaves looked like they had dark spots on them. I showed my husband, who not has the chore of emptying all of the dirt from the planter, since the spores could be in the dirt.
Weiwll put a little soil in it before winter comes, and then fill the rest up in the spring. Are your summer flowers still blooming?
Photos aren't loading currently~sorry!

I hope that will solve the problem of those spores.
My sunflowers have really started blooming now that the super heat has cooled off. Hopefully I'll see bees and hummers soon as our temperatues are now between 21c and 32c. I hope it'll stay that way until Christmas, I'm not looking forward to cold weather.

All good things must come to an end. This discussion reminded me though, I need to get some bulbs to plant.

Some of my flowers (really plants we use in salads and stews) are still blooming. They're fake four leaf clover (oxalis) in our front flowerbed. I have green leaf and purple leaf ones growing outside and in a pot in the kitchen.) They bloom all year round in the kitchen but die back after it freezes outside.

I have a couple pots on the balcony and will do something once the heat finally goes away.
