Oh good--now we are dealing with the plague

A 28 year old female lab worker in Russia has died from "pneumonia of undetermined origin". She worked at an anti-plague lab in Siberia. Several hospitals have been closed and/or locked down and 200+ people are under observation. The regional governor has stated that no microorganisms (bacteria) connected to her research were found in her body and that no other employees at the lab have contracted it. I just heard someone on the news state that it is bacterial, it doesn't spread nearly as easily as COVID, and that it is treatable with antibiotics.
I really hope that he was right about it not spreading easily because lucky us we have Trump back in control of things. Remember when he suggested injecting bleach, taking horse dewormer and malaria medication, and shooting light up your behind? That worked out really well, right?

I am terribly surprised that Hollywood has not come up with a horror movie about all of this,

That Russian bacterial infection is indeed very concerning. I hope they can contain it rather than having it spread to their population in the middle of war. I also heard in the news that there is this disease in NY called Legionnaire's disease where four people have already been infected but no major casualties have occurred yet.
