Working on a cake was supposed to be the messiest thing I did today

Yesterday my husband took our broken dryer apart to see what was wrong. The belt had broken so I won’t have a dryer until the new belt comes tomorrow. Thankfully it’s warm and windy enough that I was able to put two loads of laundry out on the line to dry. So in the process of this while doing the first load of laundry I discovered my husband never rehooked the drain hose to the proper place when he moved the washing machine. It was only about a minute of the water pouring out before discovering what was happening. I can’t believe so many water comes out so fast. It took 12 towels to clean it up and then I had to mop the floor. The bus came early and we almost missed it due to all this. I was then steaming carrots in a pot on my stove and didn’t realize the water had boiled out so drippings of carrots on the bottom burned. I was rushing to make a cup of coffee before taking Baby S to story hour and spilled some of my coffee. Baby S is down to a nap now and my morning bad luck seems to have gone away thankfully. It is my husband’s birthday and I’m very excited for the cake I am making him and to give him his gift.

That was very messy indeed. When I' move in here with my sister, I brought my washing machine with me and the maid did the same thing as your husband and the of course it got flooded.

I hope he appreciates the trouble you went to. Especially after such a stressful day you had. But you’re a mother so you’re probably used to stressful days!

Wow what a morning, that washer water coming out so fast would have freaked me out too. Glad the line dry worked out and the bad luck stopped before nap time. Hope your husband loves his cake, happy birthday to him.
