It's going to be a nice day in the 70s today. Tomorrow will be worse - in the 80s befor we get back to reasonable fall weather.
Okay, working here is getting difficult. I had a spam microsoft window come up. I needed to shut down the computer to proceed. I love myLot. I do not love the intruding ads.
Many of you know I have a new computer. New computers come with their own brand of headaches when you get everything set up. I needed to reinstall Microsoft 365 so I could write. I keep valuable notes and research in OneNote. I thought I lost it. It wasn't until I realized I needed to install 365 on the new computer that I found my OneNote work notebooks - plural. With the other computer it only showed me the one I was working with, not the ones I had from past computers, though I did have those in Word. While browsing and looking for my current work, I found a story idea I wrote up 4 years ago. It's a wonderful story idea. I decided it will be my November writing challenge novel. The name - Bachelor for Hire. It is NOT a romance. Far from it. Think intrigue. This one has it in spades. Let me give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
Bachelor for Hire
New book title — not romance
Woman sees ad online for a bachelor hiring out his services. She poo-poos the ad until she reads it and sees he is not looking for a good time with the opposite sex. Instead, she sees he has a military background, trained pilot, security officer, and Navy SEAL. Intrigued, she realized he would fit what she needed. She quickly sends a reply of interest with a proposal.
Grant Weaver didn't know what he was in for when he posted his bachelor ad online. He didn't want to hook up with anyone on a one-night stand or stand in for a woman in need of a boyfriend for a family party. None of that stuff. He was unattached, recently out of the service. His qualifications could land him anywhere, but he wanted to choose his employment, not have employment choose him. He had been down that road for the past year without success. Oh, he got a job here and there, but it didn’t last long. People were uncomfortable with his military background and the fact he always carried a weapon.
It didn't take long after he put the ad out there before proposals started pouring in. Most he discarded immediately. One, however, made him sit up and take notice. Her proposal for immediate employment looked promising. It encompassed all his training and would take him around the world. The figure she named showed she was serious about the offer. Her name left no doubt as she came from one of the wealthiest families in America.
His job - bodyguard, security officer, and pilot/chauffer for her children ages 10 and 12. Okay, he never dealt with young children before, unless you counted his siblings. His military service put him on the front lines. His interaction with children was limited. A memory popped up. He had been in Israel in the heart of Jerusalem when a bomb knocked out a city block. Terror filled the streets. He went house to house with the rest of his unit locating survivors. He found the little girl under a bed, unhurt, the only survivor of her family. She clung to him and almost refused to go with the aid workers when he met up with them. He would never forget her big brown eyes or smile, when she found something to smile about. Now, he would have two children in his care. Not the same. It wasn’t war. Yet they needed him.
Selena Michaelson-Covington, wife of James Mitchell Covington, made their wealth through oil and investment marketing. He was also the owner of one of the nation’s leading newspapers. They had two children, Hunter David Covington, age 12, and Olivia Grace Covington, age 10.
Like I said - Not a romance. I worked on the details yesterday and will start work on the new book on November first for National Novel Writing Month.
Okay, that's it. I'm done fighting ads that want to shut down my computer. How's your day going? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

that's some good plot, i like it. i finally got my ride card (a public transportation card for tram and bus). it only took me almost 3 weeks cause via email, they refused to help me (i was peristent, reported them but they only ignored me) and i only asked for a virtual card, for which i had an app, ah. but, when i finally showed up in person, they didn't want to copy my id card and the thought of coming again so i had to opt for a physical one and they charged me, of course. they are really something but one thing off my list, finally.

I dread having to deal with a new computer. You have never stopped writing!

I’m sure it will be really good.
Nothing going on here today, but it is 87 F. I hope tomorrow is much cooler. You know how much I prefer colder temperatures, just like you.
