Happy Thursday Everyone! today is sunny and it's not as chilly as yesterday. We'll be in the 70s so looks like a decent day ahead.
The lawn crew is here, buzzing around getting the grass mowed as well as weed whacking and trimming the bushes. If not this week then I'm assuming next week will probably be the last cut for the season.
My Aunt will be celebrating her 90th birthday in a few weeks so I'm trying to come up with a good idea for a gift. What can someone possibly need at 90 and has
a huge family,
I ordered a really pretty personalized card from Etsy so that should be getting here soon. Cards can be a bit pricey on Etsy but it's easy to get lost seeing how beautiful their cards can be.
Today I am determined to read my book. The book I'm reading is Mad Mable which has gotten so many good reviews and my older daughter was badgering me to read it. She insists its one of the best books she's read this year (so far).
I started it over a week ago and I'm only halfway through and it's only 250 pages in total. I keep getting distracted, put it down and don't get back to it. Normally when I find a book that's good I zip right through it.
This book is really good and I want to kick myself for taking so long to read it.
My reading goal for this year is nowhere near what I had thought I would accomplish and yet I keep seeing books I want and keep adding to my already exisiting "to be" read pile.
The only other thing I have an overabundance of is yarn
Do you have a guilty pleasure and keep adding to it??

Maybe not really a waste of time but it is very time consuming and usually I only make perhaps $30 a month to add to my SS @Marilynda1225

Earning money online doesn't sound like a waste of time to me if you're trying to make some extra cash. Your boys, like kids, would rather have attention and play time but of course they don't have to worry about money.

@rebelann I can certainly understand how time consuming it is for that $30 . You work hard for little reward but if you're like me even that $30 helps if you only have SS

You love your yarn like I love new cooking tools.
Harper never ever runs out of stickers. And when/if she does, she comes to me as she knows that I have some that I will share.
We are enjoying a sunny and warm day today too.
I have to run out and get a couple of errands done soon, but I won't walk, as I am pressed for time.

@Marilynda1225 My dil is a label person.
Open any cupboard, in the bathroom, you will find it neatly organized with those pretty stackables with brushes labeled on this shelf and something else on the others. Her kitchen is the very same way.
Harper's love of stickers comes honestly.

Yes I love yarn and crocheting keeps me out of trouble
My daughter (who is way older than Harper) loves stickers too and she recently got a sticker/label maker so she's been busy making all sorts of inspirational stickers for our journals, etc.

I guess I keep adding sports programs to watch. I’m watching the NFL season and the MLB playoffs. I can’t get enough of it, and I love it.
It boggles my mind that there was a time I hated sports.
How much yarn do you think you have? Could you hazard a guess? It would be so fun to see you given free rein in a warehouse of yarn and material.

I have shelves along one wall in my garage that has all my yarn in storage containers as well as some finished projects that I have listed for sale. My hobby has turned into a semi profitable endeavor
I can't say anything about adding sports programs because I have quite a few streaming services myself. I say, if you watch it and enjoy it, then go for it. I only think it's a waste when you don't use something and keep paying for it,
Hope the teams you are rooting for win!!

Spices, I bought some Japanese spice at Trader Joe. I am thinking I will make some fried rice and sprinkle that on top. I might actually mix some cauliflower rice with it, to make it a bit less Carby. The book sounds interesting. I have one that starts a tuxedo cat like Nico. I have been reading it sporadically.

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, I don't do Japanese really .other than like Asian wraps which are probably Chinese, and once many years ago made a Shrimp Tempura.

Ninety is a big one, congrats to your aunt! For a gift maybe a framed family photo collage, since she has a big family it would mean more than any thing you buy. And my guilty pleasure is books too, my to be read pile keeps growing and I just keep adding more.

Glad I'm not the only one who has a huge pile of books to read, Not only is my pile filled with books of my favorite authors but lately I've gotten some by authors I never read before. The bad news is discovering a new author only to find they have written lots and lots of books
A family photo would be a really nice idea., Thanks for the suggestion and you're right about it being something that would be meaningful.
