“I will do it tomorrow, promise!"
Filipinos have many wonderful qualities -- hospitable, generous, family-oriented, resilient. And then there’s our famous “mañana habit.”
And then when tomorrow comes,
“Okay, maybe tomorrow for sure"
And sometimes, tomorrow becomes next week… next week becomes next month… and suddenly we're wondering, “Wait, how long has this been here?”
But I think it's not just a Filipino thing. People everywhere procrastinate. But we Filipinos have somehow given it its own cultural flavor: “Mamaya na,”
So, I'm going to finish one thing tonight instead of saying tomorrow.
Do you procastinate?

Oh, sure, procrastination is a problem everywhere, isn’t it. Sometimes, I have issues putting things off, but then other things like difficult conversations or important phone calls I tend to get over with as soon as possible. I don’t let those linger.

I was very bad at procrastination but I'm much better now. I don't like things hanging on my mind. I like to get them done then I don't have to worry about them any more.
