Chicken Supreme and rice ….

So, this evenings tea was chicken supreme and rice. I could type a whole long list of ingredients that I had to visit five supermarkets to source, and tell you that it took 7 hours to prepare and cook ….. However, in truth …..I used a sachet mix ( don’t judge, it’s a rare thing )….just added it to milk. Fried up some chicken and mushrooms and added the sauce ….whilst all this jolliness was happening the rice was happily boiling until cooked. A dollop of each on a plate and there you go ! I love it when a plan comes together, don’t you !

I sometimes buy jars of Chicken Tonight sauces. It makes a quick and easy meal. I usually made a big casserole and have at least a couple of meals from it. I might freeze some for another day.

@JudtEv. That’s what I try to do, cook double and get some in the freezer. It means either I have a meal ready for in the week when I’m here on my own, or it’s another meal for me and The Mister for another weekend.

I don’t like people who look down on a “satchet mix”. Not everything is homemade, whoopti freaking do. People can get over it. It sounds very tasty!

@AmbiePam. I like to cook from scratch when I can, but sometimes if what we want has a sachet and I haven’t much time I will use them.

Other than the rice, it sounds like a delicious meal.

Ha, no judgement here, sachet mixes are lifesavers sometimes. Chicken and mushrooms with rice sounds really good and easy too. Honestly the quick dinners that actually work out are the best ones.
