I just remembered this Some show I was watching a couple of weeks ago, which I can’t remember what show it was now because I’ve seen several complete series lately, but in the show, there was a professional woman that I think the company was trying to retire or replaced with a younger woman, and they called her a WOCA which apparently stands for a woman of a certain age Believe it or not that’s the only thing I can remember about the show. I’m pretty sure she was offended by being called that, but I can’t remember if she fought for her job and kept it or went out gracefully. Anyway, I just wondered if you had heard that acronym before

@looeyville No, but if it’s offensive I’m sure it’s out there.

Never heard WOCA before, but a woman of a certain age is a phrase I know for sure. Kinda funny how an acronym makes it sound even more dismissive. I'd be offended too if my job was on the line and someone called me that.

I've heard the term but never the acronym. I think it's offensive, too.

That's a new on me. Why does there have to be an acronym for everything now?

First time hearing the acronym. Not the first time hearing the term.

Were they allowed to make her redundant on those grounds??
