My son used to do a 'play to pay' thing for another little boy a few years younger, but only if the parents were going to be away for a bit during the daytime, and there was no meals to be prepared or anything difficult. He found referring soccer to be much more lucrative and enjoyable.

Oh yes, I babysat.
I was actually in high demand in our area because I seemed to be the only girl of that age group that parents could call. I used to bring home at least $20 per evening, sometimes more, if families dropped off their cousins, if I was watching for a couple of families it was alot more, and actually I had to do alot less as the kids would keep themselves busy and I would just focus on the baby in the house and the clock, so that the older children were in bed on time.

I truthfully only babysat once asa kid. It was for my aunt and uncle, and I don't remember getting paid. However, as an adult..I did some respite care, which was kind of glorified babysitting..paid decently.

It's good if you can work in babysitting and then you have your pay
