Adso has become so clingy

I don't know what is going on with this cat. He's a scaredy cat but he has always loved his mama. He is 6 years old now and has been very independent. Most people never see him. I have to point to his portrait on the wall to show people what he looks like. After being gone for 2 months Adso is now a stage-5 clinger. He sleeps on the bed with me. He follows me to the bathroom. He stares at me when I'm taking a bath. Even now he is laying on the table by me. My mother would be horrified by that but I've long given up that fight. No matter where I go in this joint Adso is beside me. It is weird how he suddenly got so needy.
