A member mentioned in a comment that she had heard the word ‘voluntold’ put forward as a better word than 'volunteered'. Voluntold would apply to my husband, Vince, very well.
I often volunteer his services if I hear of a need but he never minds. Mostly, it’s to take photos at a function or perhaps of an individual. He enjoys these assignments and is happy to help.
Sometimes I’ll offer our services to house-sit or help with a project and then it is a case of him being ‘voluntold’. Don’t you think it’s a great word?
The collage is from Amanda’s garden which I’m been talking about. I liked the little sheep sculpture. The purple-leaved plant in the photo is bloodleaf or Iresine herbstii. Upper right shows a patch of daisies seen through a frangipani. Lower left is purple statice and lower right another lovely rose.
