Such a gray and wet day

I thought my eye appointment in McPherson was 9:15, so I was upset with myself for not getting out of the door by 8 a.m. It turns out it was for 9:30, I arrived right at 9:15, and the saw me early. The eye exam went smoothly and there are no major changes. My pressures were actually better than usual. I did let them dilate my eyes, and they are dry and itchy now. You are able to drive, but I stayed in town for a while before getting on the highway. Going out my door the air felt warm and heavy. By the time I reached the highway there was a light rain falling. Then came the fog. . . very hard to see to drive. Miasma rising from the ditches, creeks and lakes along the way. That is why I felt I was running behind schedule. After my appointment it was too early for lunch, so I went to Walmart. I sat in my car and listened to all my voice mails and responded to the ones that needed it. At least MOST of them. I shopped Walmart, but I am not feeling much like spending money. I bought some cookies and sausage. I stopped in a Loves travel center and went to Hardees for a mushroom and Swiss burger. Guys I have a hard time making myself eat out. It is not any fun without Bob. The fog had let up, there never was any sun, but some of the clouds pulled back for a while. I was very sleepy. I stopped and parked in the park in Marion, near my home, and took a little nap. While I was eating supper the wind picked up again tonight. I will go to the Veteran's Home tomorrow. I am going to sign a waiver that Bob does not want his meat ground up. I recognize the choking risks as he does not wear full dentures, but it does no good for them to fix food he will not eat. I have a bag that will hook on his walker, and will take some cookies with me for him. That is about all I can report today. I would like to see a little sun. It has been two days.

it doesn't feel right when you're mate-spouse isn't there to enjoy the day with after being together for so many yrs & now it's just you I know how hard that can be, I wouldn't eat out either without mine. You be careful I stopped and parked in the park in Marion, near my home, and took a little nap

Does he like the food okay? My grandma didn’t like the food at her assisted living center, but I always wondered if a little of that wasn’t her losing her sense of taste. I don’t think she had a problem with texture, like Bob.

Sunshine mostly makes a person feel better. It's a huge adjustment living on your own when for so long it's been the two of you.

Glad your eye exam went well and the pressures were better, that's good news. I get what you mean about eating out, it's just not the same when the person you love isn't across the table. Hope Bob enjoys the cookies tomorrow, and I hope the sun comes back soon.
