not okay with waiting for 2 weeks for a teeth scan

i went to see my new dentist today. actually, it was turbulent even yesterday cause, our healthcare is really not that modern and doesn't operate digitally well (they say they are but it's all on us, patients)so, i could see i'm her patient online and she couldn't so i had to email her but she wasn't that bad but wasn't too nice either cause she kept persuading me i'm not her patient and that made me upset, i must confess. later, when she got the proof, she wasn't sorry but, yes, what to do, i had to man up and i went to get a teeth scan cause she said it would be good to do it so, i did it and today, she said teeth that cause me pain, i have to take a scan again and not the whole teeth scan, that she suggested. and imagine this, she refered me to a clinic on the other side. i was shocked a bit and said, couldn't i do that any closer and she said that only in this one special clinic they can scan your teeth thoroughly or i can take a scan in a private clinic and pay. i said i can't pay right now. later, when i found the clinic online and wept how far it was, i could see i could schedule my appointment online and i quickly got the answer but my appointment is on October 30, 2 days before a big holday here, All Saints' Day and in 2 weeks. in other health centers, i could scan my teeth on a same day so i asked via email about this and i got the answer it's because my dental referral doesn't have a label of urgency. if it had, i could scan my teeth on the same day. this new dentist didn't see inflammation signs but she could have explained or say something. i remember for some other appointments, if you go in person, you perhaps can get an earlier appointment but who knows. i read the clinic on a daily basis does teeth scans for almost 200 people so maybe i can't get any earlier appointment but, not too great news for me. god. i thought it would be easier...

I’m not familiar with how the medical system works in your country, but I imagine it’s quite difficult to get an appointment these days, especially with so many people needing medical attention. I hope your new dentist will attend to you and treat you the way you want to be treated. Building a good relationship with them is important, as it might encourage them to be even nicer to you in the future if you decide to make them your permanent attending dentist.

before, i went to a private dentist and i must say it was quicker.not much but a bit. and this dentist, she was okay in person, unlike my previous social dentist, who was like a bully but here, they always have an upper hand, they like to point out or act highly so, yes, if i want to be good with her, i have to be inferior, which is not always enjoyable. also, over phone, when she ot the proof i am her patient, i said i was tellign the truth and she onyl said i could come in person or something. i didn't comment that but, yes. they are acways right and that is sometimes tiring. how is the medical system in your country, concerning these things?

@valherma00 I think you might be dealing with government employees. I’m not sure if we have a system where dental services are provided by the government. In my country, dental care is handled privately and not offered by the government. I believe the government is more likely to cover medical services rather than dental.

@rsa101 yes, this is the state's or government employee but still, some private dentists or doctors are also working for the government. if they work hard and honest, maybe they would be nicer, who knows.

right? i wish i made these things up but i'm not, they are real and absurd. 2 weeks is a long time. and when my dentist said when i was at the door, in a calm voice, to call her when i get my scan photo, i now realise she thought it would take some time or she thought i know it too but i didn't (communication is not healthcare people's forte here, i feel). i mean, how come she can't see my teeth on the first scan but previous dentist could, ah. but, i'm her patient now and luckily, she didn't raise her voice like the last one and welcomed me politely but she did say i should call, not email her and all that mess over phone before, i should forget it, i feel. also, she has an email as her 2nd contact but for some reason, she doesn't use it, in this age and time. also, you're on a cruise now, right? stay safe and have a good time

I can understand why you're so disappointed. You were hoping the new dentist would make things easier, but instead you have ended up with more appointments and another long wait. It would have helped if she had explained everything properly, especially why you needed a second scan. I hope you manage to get an earlier appointment and finally get some relief from the pain.

thank you and yes, i was disappointed cause i, as a patient here, have to carry so many things on my shoudlers and also have to be careful what to say or not cause, dentists and doctors have a very high opinion of themselves and one wrong word and they can make you life miserable and , sadly, i need them. yes, everything more and she said she can't see inflammation, which is good but i am sensing something again (i had 2 inflammations this year) and in 2 weeks also, she maybe takes a holiday leave so, really not sure when i will meet her. i went privately before but that dentist only took my money, i feel, he didn't treat me right. indeed. i need some relief. how is healthcare in your country, any better than here?

I had an awful experience with the first teeth scan and i really want to believe it won't happen to me again. also, yes,i'm doing all i can and i can't fight the system if it's 2weeks from now. i guess i should be grateful it's not 3 weeks. Yes,as we progress,i feel we are actually going backwards but sometimes you hope it won't be like this every single time.ah.thank you.
