My husband leaves tomorrow morning to go to North Dakota hunting with friends. He will be gone for 9 days.
He goes on a hunting trip every year. Always since I have been with him he’s gone to NY. This will be his first time ever going to North Dakota.
Usually it’s meh whatever when he goes. I’m already missing him and he hasn’t even left yet. I guess that’s the difference in our relationship from other years when he was drinking etc.
He’s usually only gone 5-7 days too. This is the longest trip he will be taking. It’s a very long drive and an expensive trip. It’ll cost well over $1000 from start to finish. If it is a trip of a lifetime for him then I suppose it’s worth it. Experiences are great. Plus he works hard for his money so his choice.
Photo is of one our dogs that Little E dressed up. She is one going on the hunting trip as well. I love that little dog I will miss giving her hugs. I’m glad my old little dog will be staying home with us. She will mope badly for days after he leaves so hopefully I can get her out hiking at least once while he is gone.

I hope he enjoys his trip and I hope you try to something really nice for yourself that you perhaps don't often get the chance to do. Is Little E an older dog? She seems to be going grey around the muzzle but perhaps that's her natural colour.

I think your husband will have a great time. My uncle used to go to Wyoming every Fall on a hunting trip. He looked forward to that every year. He went with one or two of his local buddies.

You will miss him indeed.
You are a very supportive wife to allow him to go.
