Honestly, these songs in these countdowns are my personal taste. I do NOT deliberately pick songs just to goad people. Hopefully our Buffett-loving buddy will believe that when she sees the artist for today’s Hollywood song. Reelin’ in the Years - Steely Dan Sorry, NJ Chic. You need better taste in music.

(I’m kidding, of course. Personal taste and music is personal taste in anything: PERSONAL.) It’s the Dan, with that astonishing debut album of theirs. That’s Skunk Baxter on guitar, before he went to the Doobie Brothers. It’s an FM rock staple, and it’s here for you to enjoy again. The best Steely Dan song. I had it on 45.

Not my personal favorite Dan song, but a powerhouse tune from their discography.

Reelin' in the Years is such a classic, and that guitar solo still hits every time. Funny how music taste is just personal, nobody should get teased for it. Thanks for sharing this one, Can't Buy a Thrill is a great album.

I got teased when I was a kid for listening to country music while everyone else was listening to the Beatles. I know that’s painful.
