Europe falling apart ?

The French protests are the biggest boost far right politicians Marie Le Penn will have in the election cycle, I would six months away from having a majority far right French government. The French like a protest , fair enough. They chopped their royal families heads off, after all. This one started over white middle class lefties desperate to protest over something so chose the state of the education system. They decided the best way to do that was to allow the rough boys to burn the schools down. Hummm. The violence quieted down a bit but then the black African youth of France decided they needed needed new Nikes and had a riot of their own. This is now spreading across Europe. In Albania they have had a left wing government for a while and turning the economy around but the youth are restless and decided to riot about A hotel linked to Donald Trump so not to miss out on the action. Nothing , yet, in the U.K but Italy stirring. Spain will be next. Open borders in Europe was always going to end up here. People hate immigration when its too high. Hate it. Its the biggest issue of the European Union.15 of those open borders have been quietly closed to stem people flow over the last year or so. The European Union is stacked with debt, generous social security programs supporting a lot of asylum seekers and ethnic Europeans, as well as locals, costing a trillion Euros all in. But still they come and can you blame them? Sadly you need right wing governments to do what's needed in these situations. Its not going to be pretty. The Labour government have talked about a second referendum here one day to re-join Europe. Now that would be an interesting result. A lot of people that didn't vote in 2016 were unsure if they wanted to vote with their heart on immigration and so stayed home. Everyone clear on that, did, and so Remain lost. Voting to join what increasingly looks like pre war right wing Europe is a far tougher sell than voting to leave.

A similar situation happened in France in 1968 with the student riots.

@JohnRoberts Also in Italy and this is why I could not go to the University. Dad told me "it was too dangerous".

I heard about those news. It is scary what is going on in Europe. Closing the borders is a good beginning to solve the problem.

You are right, Spain will be the next. I have already lived this scenario when I was also a student in 1970. Nothing good comes from this.

The unrest has been hitting our news bulletins. It's very worrying. At least we have ocean all around us.

Hard to say where this goes honestly, these things usually have deeper causes than one trigger. I think people on every side are just frustrated and nobody is really listening. Lets wait and see what happens before calling the election.
