Oh, y’all are in trouble now! I got two fingers back on my right hand. You’re also in trouble because I have another song that mentions Los Angeles to torment you with. Let’s hit the wayback machine to those wild 70s. Uneasy Rider - Charlie Daniels Hey, listen to this rap song! No, back then it was called “talking blues.” (You remember that line in “Walk of Life” by Dire Straits: “back beat, the talking blues”? That’s what we’re talking about.) This is a humorous story of a counter-culture guy (“who owns this car with the peace sign”) who ends up in a “redneck” place thanks to a flat tire. Now, earlier this year, Scott (TeamFreak) said he liked finding mistakes in songs. Here’s another song with a mistake in it. In one verse he’s leaving when “these five big dudes come strolling in with this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth,” then he says he doesn’t want to get into a fight “especially when there was three of them and only one of me.” How’d we go from five to three in one verse? Oh well. Later in life, Charlie Daniels became one of the people he ridiculed in this song. Isn’t life strange that way. This is still a good song. Uneasy Rider Written by Charlie Daniels Recorded by Charlie Daniels From Honey in the Rock, 1973 L.A. LYRICS: I was takin’ a trip out to L.A. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQPmx3eq2pk

Old karaoke favorite. I have the Epic release retitled 'Uneasy Rider' with a different photo of Charlie.

Once it got popular and he went to a bigger record label they reissued it. Sort of like MCA re-releasing all those ABC/ABC Dunhill records when they bought that label out.

I hadn't heard this song in a long time. I played it for my son, he liked it, too. So they gave you back two fingers? New splint/bandage, or? I take it they didn't cast your hand?

No, a removable hand splint to keep fingers 4 and 5 immobile.

Ha, good catch on the five to three thing, I never noticed that before. Funny how he ended up like the guys in the song later on. Still a fun one to listen to though, brings back some memories.

Yup always like the man and his music. Some uneasy riders pulled out of here after a couple of days with motorcycle dudes going nuts here,

We all know there's only one way out of that situation. Borrow some platform shoes from the cook, put "Tequila" on the jukebox, and dance on the bar.
