My good friend and coworker was not. She is an advisor for the freshman class. Her son is a freshman and is on the freshman football team. They usually play in the afternoon but tonight they were supposed to play tonight under the lights. They ordered hot dogs, buns, Gatorade, bottled water, cookies, chips, and all sorts of candy to sell as a fundraiser. Well the opposing team cancelled at the last minute. . . and after they had picked up and paid for their order.
Sooooo she decided to run a snack stand out of her classroom and sell to the students. Her room is just 2 down from mine so I listed the available items and prices on my whiteboard and told my students that they could go buy stuff from her at the start of class.
I didn't see any of my kids with a hot dog but plenty bought chips, candy, and Gatorade. They were happy and so was she because they bought A LOT.
Of course they did--they are teenagers!
She is going to sell whatever she has left tomorrow so they will all be happy again then too.

"That was a smart save by your friend, nobody wants to be stuck with all that food after a game gets cancelled. Teenagers will buy snacks anywhere, so I'm not surprised the chips and candy went fast. Nice of you to help her out by putting the prices on your whiteboard."
