Not what I expected to happen

I went to Spectrum today to cancel the Voice (landline) service at my mom’s house. She’s paying $30 a month for it and she never uses her phone. Made no sense to keep it. I was expecting the bills from now on to be $30 less as the charge for Voice on past bills shows $30. And that’s what I was initially told at the store. After the girl finished cancelling my Voice service I was told the bill will only be $5 less because Voice was part of a bundle (TV, Internet, and Voice). I am assuming that means that the charges for TV and Internet will therefore be different. Otherwise it makes no sense. I guess I will have to wait for the next bill to find out. Paying $5 less is still a good thing but that’s not much compared to paying $30 less.

Every dollar saved is a wonderful thing to happen.

Paying 30 $ a month isn't bad for the service you got but knocking 5 $ off isn't that much to say it helped either but it could be a lot worse too going with another service.

It was $30 just for voice. For all three (voice, internet, tv) was $159.99.

TV and internet is still a bundle. It’s just a bundle of two instead of three. But yet, $5 is still worth the cancellation.

If we go from $159.99 to $154.99 not that much of a difference, which is a bummer.

I hope they do not raise something else.

If they only take $5 off the bill then something else will be more than it was previously. That’s my understanding.

There is a whole heap of difference between $5 and $30.

When you’re expecting to get $30 off, but it turns out to be only $5 that’s disappointing.

Ugh that bundle thing is so sneaky. They tell you $30 at first and then the price of TV and Internet quietly goes up when Voice is gone. I would call them and ask for the new rates in writing before the next bill shows up.
