How do you detach when you have too many problems?

I am overwhelmed. On top of the depression and burnout, it's a war zone at home with my abusive parents. My dad drinks every day and is aggressive, destroying things around the house. I am scheduled for surgery soon, but I am not able to go, so I will cancel all my appointments. When I had a job, it was minimum wage, and I couldn't afford to live by myself. I had to survive, buy food, and pay bills. I am trying to ignore all my problems because they can't be changed right now. In the future, I must find a better-paying job and move out on my own. But I have 3 cats, and I have to take them with me. I am not sure if I can survive this winter in this home. The environment at home is making everything so much harder because of the constant drinking.

with your own place, i think it will be different but that's the thing, with the economy and all, where to get it. i'm sorry your father is doing harm to himself but more importantly, to you too. you're not going on a surgery? i wish someone could take you. detaching is hard and it takes a toll on your health.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such difficult times. Have you tried seeking help from a close relative? Or maybe find a support group that you can turn to. Hope things wouldn't be too harsh for you. prayers.

Sorry tohear all this and will put you in my prayers, Are there no friends or relatives who can help you? How does your mom handle all this?
