Whatever You Do, Don’t Ask My Husband To Take Your Photo

One of my projects today was renewing my passport online and I needed a headshot photo to upload with my application. I knew better, but I asked hubby to take the photo for me. I really didn’t have any other choice.
But you see here’s the thing: hubby was a police detective for many many years. He is very competent at taking photos of dead bodies.
But he can’t take a good photograph of anything to save his life. Well, at least not anything that’s alive. He doesn’t seem to have a sense of centering, focal point, symmetry, or lighting.
It’s our running joke. He knows he’s terrible at it. When I asked him to take my picture, he told me to lay down on the floor and he would chalk outline me and take my picture.

You mean if he points a camera at you, you better run or else!

My ex husband’s grandmother once bought herself a fancy camera. She tried but her pictures of people were disastrous! She chopped off pretty much everyone’s heads. It was funny but it was sad. She just couldn’t do it.
