Vivek Ramaswamy is now quietly pulling the ad with his opponent's mother

If you pay any attention to politics you'll know that Republican Vivek Ramaswamy who is a candidate for Ohio governor has put out a very controversial ad. His opponent, Amy Acton, was raped by her stepfather as a child. She and her brother were removed from her mother's custody when she was 12. Her mother stayed with the stepfather. He was indicted for sexually assaulting her and eventually fled the state. Acton hasn't spoken to her mother since she was 12.
Well Ramaswamy's campaign thought it was a good idea to get her mother on camera for an ad in which she says that Acton is a liar and "needs help". The woman is very old and obviously unwell. But to make an ad trying to capitalize on childhood rape is insane. It has backfired in all sorts of ways. I mean his campaign was already behind but now they have just sunk their ship. It isn't only Democrats who are condemning it--Republicans are too.
This was an unforced error and very stupid to do so close to Election Day. Ramaswamy admitted that it was his campaign that created the ad. He asked Trump what he should do after the initial backlash and of course he was told to lean in on it. The response to the ad has been terrible, his numbers are way down, and his campaign is now quietly pulling the ad.
Too little too late. He is cooked.

He showed his true colors. Listening to that old woman and then finding out she stayed with the man who molested her daughter made me sick, sick....I hope no one ever forgets that he stooped this low.
