Could you be friends with your ex?

I don't think so. I could say hi and hello, I could have a decent conversation with an ex. But friends? Nope. Back when I was in Law School, I dated a classmate whom I found out later on got another girlfriend who was pregnant! Big red flag alert. He told me he broke up with her and the girl knew about me. But he had to be there for her pregnancy. Eventually, we broke up. A year later, my friends and I were at a bar, drinking after a major exam. He came, said hello. Sat next to me, held my hand and whispered, I missed you. When he went to the toilet, I told my friends I had to go home. Never saw him after that. So, nope I could never be friends with an ex.
