Yesterday I went to sleep after learning about how the elections in Brazil were going. I could not understand then what my eyes were seeing. So this morning, the first thing I did was to go to the news online. And, thanks be given, brazilians had added and learned from the past and Lula da Silva was elected President. I went to sleep yesterday thinking about the Amazon forest turning into chips and woke up with a new hope. I am sorry though that so many of us (and I include my country) have a majority of people that when they vote, only think about the false promises they have heard.Do you know that to make just a pair of jeans, almost 10.000 liters of water are needed? Do you think about consumism when you vote? Do you read about the thousand babies that die of thirst and hunger while soome people buy several pairs of jeans each year? I think that President Lula da Silva is a hope.
