Unexpected Surprise

Our tour guide on Prince Edward Island, who turned out to have been the head of the tourism department on PEI for 20 years, had a final destination for us at the end of the wonderful, sunny day we had there. An adaptive playground right across from an original lighthouse (see picture). My sister loved the lighthouse, but we were all thrilled with the playground. We could only have six in the car with the guide, and my dad and Diana had no interest so they stayed with Hudson who also had no interest in going. But, of course, we all talked to that wonderful gentleman, so he knew about Hudson. So while that playground was close by, he also thought we’d appreciate it as it is an adaptive playground. That is a playground that can be used by children with OR without disabilities. For instance, it has a ramp to push a wheelchair, and the swings are the kind where you can strap in a person who may not be able to hold themselves completely up. You know those cutouts you out your head through, and it shows your head with a different body? It even had a cut out for a kid in a wheelchair; Hudson would have loved that. So as excited as my sister was to see the lighthouse, she may have been more impressed by the playground. Are you a lighthouse person?

The guide thinking of Hudson and picking that playground at the end of the day is so thoughtful... Love that the photo cutout had a wheelchair one too, lowkey the best detail fr.

Love the song "The Lighthouse." and smile every time I see one (usually photos, though--don't think I've ever seen one in person).

I like lighthouses. Years ago I toured an Oregon coast lighthouse. The lighthouse keeper's house had been turned into a bed and breakfast. We had some wonderful times there.

Just now
@AmbiePam The Oregon coast is beyond gorgeous. There was a half mile trail that went down to the beach. So many pelicans!

It looks very nice, and that is cool to hear hear about the playground. I do like lighthouses, though I have never seen one in person.
