Just Had a Medication Review With a Pharmacist

United States

My health insurance plan offers a once yearly review by a pharmacist to make sure the prescriptions that I'm taking don't interact poorly with each other or have undesired side effects. I learned that one of the medications I'm taking (for allergies) is TWICE the recommended highest dosage. Then I learned that my psych medicines don't play well with each other. So I've got some doctors appointments and/or decisions to make regarding whether or not I want to continue taking them. It's always something in Looeyville Land.

It is good you have those services and use them. Good luck with whatever changes you make.

Finding out your allergy med was double the top dose is a scary thing to learn... glad that pharmacist review caught it before it caused more trouble. Hope the doctor visits go smooth and you get some clear answers, imo it's worth taking it slow.

I’m glad they did that. I once had a doctor prescribe an amount of an antidepressant that caused me to overdose. I got sicker than a dog.

Glad you are starting to get some answers. If I were you though..I wouldn't add anything else..until you get yourself straight.

It's good that you had to consult and to compare and contrast which best sets for you. Health is wealth they say.

Ugh. I'm sure it's hard to know what to do for the best with all your various medications. Hopefully, talking to a doctor or two will help.
