I guess I did not post about my debit card not working yesterday. Something had damaged the chip. I had to go get it replaced and was at the bank before it opened this morning. While I waited for it to open I shopped at Walmart nearby. Then I drove from Newton to Hillsboro and Jane and I went to "brunch". While in Hillsboro I bit the bullet and bought a new car. It is in the picture. New to me car. I have not dealt with a dealership in around 30 years. I have never had a car newer than 2004. This is a 2018 GMC Acadia. It will be nice to drive. I will rack up the miles, but I am not taking it on the road until I practice around town some and learn about all the technology. Soon it will feel like an old friend.

Oh wow cool, I wish I was getting a new car, but I think it is going to be awhile.

Bob tended to buy what I call "disposable" cars, because he could work on them. I can not do that and I do not want to be stranded on the road, so I had to do this. I thought you bought a newish car in the last year. I can, of course, be remembering wrong.

@GardenGerty Talk about working on vehicles my son just replaced the alternator in his truck by himself. He never had a mechanical class in his life. He just watches YouTube videos. It's fun for him to do this stuff. However, he doesn't want to work on other vehicles..he doesn't want to take responsibility for messing them up.

I think so. I can even open the back with a button, and it closes with another one.

Congrats! It looks nice. I hope you don't have any trouble out of it. Someone had one that worked with my husband and it was a lemon. I hope you have much better fate!!

My son in law has worked in a couple of dealerships as a service writer or parts orderer or something. He said the ones newer than 2018 had fewer troubles. I do believe any make or model can be a lemon.

It is not the highest end of its model, but is certainly the nicest I have had.

@GardenGerty You need a reliable, comfortable car with all the driving you do, and will be doing.

Going from a 2004 to a 2018 is a big jump, that Acadia is gonna feel so fancy at first... smart move practicing around town before the long drives imo
