The collage shows four entrants from one of the floral art classes at the recent Rose Show. The Gerbera Society had combined with the Rose Society so the public was treated to a magnificent display of both roses and gerberas. Three of these arrangements use gerberas.
The arrangements seen here are all created in the Ikebana style, which is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Ikebana is centuries old and is based on simplicity, balance and harmony, often using only a few carefully chosen elements.
The art encourages mindfulness, patience and a deeper appreciation of nature’s quiet beauty. I loved all of these and could easily put up with them sitting on my dining table. Do you have a favourite?

I remember during my Grade School Years we have Arts and Crafts subject in school and one of the many activities we have on that time was doing Ikebana albums where you have to put a catalogue of Ikebana artwork on an art album. It sure was fun doing it but at the same time very tricky othewise you''d end up ruining your design.
