How Does This Happen?

So today my mom went to get new tires on her car, and replace the sensors that tell her if they need filled with air.
Well, she just messaged me to let me know she got home and that all 4 tire sensors went out on the way home! Now if the place was in town sure she could go right back and tell them to fix it, refund her, something...but the dealership that she takes it to is almost an hour drive away.
More and more I am not seeing the appeal of newer, "smarter" cars. I'll take my 23 year old car that I have to manually check the tire pressure.
Has that happened to you?

No, it’s never happened to me.
In theory these sensors are a great idea, but only if they work; saves you having to manually check the tyres. For all four to go at the same time sounds like dodgy workmanship. She should get them to come out and sort her car out.
Your car is nearly older than you!

That's good it hasn't.
True, in theory as long as they don't fail. But yes, all four went out at v once! She goes Saturday for then to fix the problem
Ah, I'm like 16 years older lol

I can relate and I am sorry for her monitors going off.
We had new tires installed at the dealership on an SUV and the monitors started going off within a week.
It was Christmas time, and we didn't have the time to get it back in.
Little did we know that there was a very limited time frame for them to cover that work-ask her to get it back in to where the work was done as soon as she can. She deserves that peace of mind.

Oh really? A week is just as bad for them to go off, and at Christmas time!
She called just a few minutes ago and we'll take it back on Saturday.

It seems like they didn't do something right for all of them to go. But I agree we don't need most of the crap that's on them.

If it always works then it's helpful but when they just have issues that stinks.
The guy said he can reprogram it on Saturday, or replace them

Yes, she definitely was mad about it, I would have been too. Especially when she probably spent over $1000 on the tires, sensors and labor. And now she works till the weekend, so can't get it back there til the weekend.
Yes, nice thing about the older cars. Sure it's not as convenient... but it beats having those sensors and such going out

It definitely is, and it is especially weird because it worked at first...till she got about halfway home she said.
