I learned something new!

I met an old woman whom my brother introduced to me as the woman who’s mom breastfed our father. It was World War II and my grandparents moved to hide in one of the tenanted farmlands they owned. At that time my grandma had two sons. My uncle and my dad, and both were being breastfed. However, she didn’t have enough milk for both, so my dad had to be breastfed by one of the tenants. I never knew this. But glad I did. Did you recently learn something nice about your family?

the part about the tenant feeding your dad because there wasnt enough milk for both boys is so touching... imo that kind of bond doesnt just fade, it turns into family. Meeting her in person must have felt kinda bonkers.

I don't think so. I think I know most of what there is to know about my family.

I think that's nice and reassuring. No bad surprises.

I learnt not long ago that I had a brother who only lived a few days.
