Patrick Stewart is best known to most of us as Captain jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation I can hear him saying,"Make it so." as I type
I thought he did a great job as the captain. He played it classy and level-headed. Later I learned that Stewart had been a Shakespearean actor before working in television.
Anyway, he has passed away at 86. He's one of actors I really came to respect. He's someone I would have enjoyed meeting.
I was saddened to hear he had passed on.

He is famously a Shakespearean actor. Picard and Professor X allowed the means to pursue his true passion of the stage.

@JohnRoberts Aha! I had not known that was his ultimate goal. So he was indeed a man of character. .

@TheHorse Performing live theater. His TV and movie fame provided the star power clout that he could get backing for the theater he wanted to do.

He was famous for his Star Trek character.
Not a Trek fan though but I loved him as Professor X in X-men.

He showed off his talents so very well in both Star Trek and Xmen. I'm really feeling old now.
