If you vote in the US do you vote early or by mail-in ballot?

I don't know if early voting happens here in NJ. When my parents still had my childhood home I was registered in the same town that I grew up and work in. I never changed it when my ex and I bought the house. The school I work at is just around the corner from the polling place and I drove past it every day on the way home so I always just voted on Election Day. Then my ex and I took our last (sadly) Cozumel, Mexico vacation in November when I had a week off. We always went during spring break but he had a hip replacement then that year so we went in Nov and weren't around for Election Day. We requested absentee ballots and voted that way. After requesting them it somehow became automatic that I always get mail-in ballots. I'm not mad about it. I'm not some Trump-believing MAGA cult member. I dropped my ballot off at a drop box by the local library yesterday. I don't trust the USPS with all of the shenanigans that the guy in charge (or who was in charge) did and with what Trump could possibly do to the ones that are mailed in. How do you vote?

Early and as often as legally possible. By mail the last few years.

I vote at the polls on election day unless I have a reason to vote early.

I remember how proud I was to cast my first ballot. I was 18, voting in a Presidential election, and went with my parents because I was weirdly nervous. I happened to get caught by one of those little kids they get to ask you how you voted when we left the school. They were too adorable to blow off. But by 2016, it didn’t matter if I went early voting or day of voting, I got caught in a line, and my back started killing me, standing that long. I signed up for absentee, and have voted that way ever since. Right now, I don’t even know where my current polling place is. Anyway, I love it because I never ever miss anything up for a vote. I used to be terrible at voting for mayor, and now I never miss it. My sister takes her kids with her every time she goes to vote. She votes differently than her husband, and I’m hoping those kids follow her voting lead.
