Which would you prefer? Due to religious reasons, some prefer to be buried. It has been our practiced for years. But nowadays, it’s more practical to be just cremated. During the pandemic, we had no choice because it was mandated by the government for cremation to be done. My friend’s mom was just cremated yesterday.

I figger burn me up and toss me somewhere or 'scatter my ashes' is the appropriate way to put it.

Where would you want your ashes to be scattered? I would want to be buried next to my dad. Scattering ashes is a no, no here. If cremated, I would want my ashes to be scattered in the sea. But since it's not allowed here and I don't want my family to be in trouble, then I wanted to be next to my dad.

I've always wanted to be cremated or aquamation, which has the same end results, just cuts down on the carbon footprint of the process.

I already left instructions to be cremated. My husband also asked to be cremated, I have the urn with his ashes. So much better than having him buried in a cold cemetery.

@LadyDuck that’s good that you could. We can’t disperse the ashes at all. It has to be in a columbarium. Or buried in a cemetery.

@toniganzon - Yes, I decided to keep the urn. We can, or we can disperse the ashes. I did not want to disperse the ashes. I feel he is still with me now.

My soul will be free and happy with my loved ones so I say cremation. Besides, I don't even know it there will be money to bury me, so burn and scatter probably

So it's up to the people who will bury you what to do with your body? That's why we have last wills and testaments on how we wish to taken care of and not to put that burden on others.
