Turn that calendar, we are now in the eleventh month of 2026. It is passing quickly.
We only had 2 to get up twice to answer the door last night. There were a pair of little ones and then a single older child who came along an hour later.
I haven't heard from our son yet, it is too early and they will sleep long and well after going out last night.
It is getting light out already, much earlier than yesterday. The temperature this morning was 8C, which for the beginning of November is much warmer than it usually is.
The weather has changed so much even in the past 5 years. It is quite noticeable.
But, not to be fooled, because last year on Nov. 11th we got our first glimpse of snow, and instead of it being flurries we were up to our knees in it. And that was the way it went until March.
I will miss October, it is my favorite month.

I love your pic. It looks somehow wistful.

It's been a very strange couple of months for my desert, we've gotten more rain than we'd usually get in 2 years. The pacific isn't done with those hurricanes yet so I'm wondering what it'll throw at us next. New Mexico is in a state of emergency due to flooding, that's totally unusual and the Rio Grande here has water in it

I'm starting to feel like I have been up for a while.
I am hoping for a nap this afternoon, I have to count out the packages of meat in the deep freezer before I can have one. Our butcher closes for quite a while over Christmas, and I need to be sure that if I have to reorder my beef I get it done soon.

@Juliaacv Best to get it checked then. I am thinking we have enough to get to summer

Yes, we can get a change of weather that will bring snow at any time now that we enter November.
My husband and I would like to go to a Christmas store next weekend in another town which is on a beach and well known for summer visitors. We've never been this late in the season, but if it isn't raining next Saturday we will go.

We get a heavy dew at this time of the year, but that is the only 'dampness' we have had.
it last rained on Oct 12th weekend.
The girls facetimed me this morning.
They were actually colouring with their new markers and putting stickers on pictures, very little mention to the chocolate that they got.
Our son put out his wheelbarrow full of cans of pop, there was enough for 100 children, and it was empty within 90 minutes. So he knows that he got at least that many kids.

Only twice, huh?
I will miss October too. My favorite as well. Now it's winter all the way until about April or May.

October passed much too quickly but that just means that nex Saturday I get to order my monthly groceries, and since I still have quite a bit from last month I will be a bit ahead of the game and get myself some extra treats,
