I Decided To Scare The Villagers This Morning

Today was my first day going out in public since the eye surgery. Nobody screamed and ran, so that was good. The guy at the convenience store where I bought a lottery ticket looked at me with pity in his eyes. The waitress just went on as if nothing was different. Good for her! Here's my most recent photo of my monster face.

@LooeyVille oh no ! I’m surprised there is no cream that they could have given you to ease the itching !

@LooeyVille yes, I’ve heard you shouldn’t use Vaseline around the eyes. I hope the itching stops soon. It will be worth it in the end ….

@Traceyjayne Well, there's an antibiotic ointment that I apply 3 times each day and it helps moisten the stitches to keep them from itching, but I can't use it more often or I won't have enough. It's a tiny tube. The internet says usually you can put Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on wounds with stitches, but some sites say never use Vaseline on the eyes.

What kind of surgery did you have ? It looks so uncomfortable. I hope you heal soon.

Upper eyelid blespheropasty (eyelid lift) for MEDICAL reasons, not cosmetic reasons. Hooded eyes were blocking my vision.

Hats off to the waitress! I hope I would have a poker face, but I’d probably give a pity look too.

I hope it heals quickly and you feel much better. Believe me, you look just like a person with a health problem, not like some creature from the Black Lagoon, but I suppose most of those are in Wachington DC,

I know, right? What category would the Oscars call it? "Most Natural Horror" or "Most Sustainable Monster Face" ????

That swelling does look painful. I hope you will show us the 'after' photo because I know it will be an amazing transformation!

You can see you've had stitches and I guess they see others with various bandages, casts, etc.

Good that you went out without bothering what others may think. It can attract attention as it looks like your eyes were under physical attack. Hopefully, you will recover soon.
