Normally I write on this site the good side of human beings rescuing animals and persons in need.
In this case this story is kind of bittersweet since Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) answered an emergency call on Saturday about a four year old boy who was walking by himself in a retention pond on Saturday.
The VCSO deputies rescued the boy and took him home to find our that his parents' home was filled with filthy conditions that are too gruesome to share here.
The VCSO called Deltona Animal Control who came to the home to pick up the family dog who was inside of a cage.
Both parents were taken into custody and charged with child neglect and animal cruelty.
The boy is now living with his grandparents. I do not wish what happened to the four year old and his pet dog on my worst enemy.

You wonder why some people become parents.

That is a very, very sad story but at least now the child has been taken from his parents.

That was fortunate for the poor child that his case was investigated, and appropriate punishment given out.
