Surprise side effect of castration.

Guadeloupe

My sister did get two kittens and when they came of age she had them rendered so sterile by the vet so that there would be no trouble of sorts. They were both boys; now they’re just eunuchs. When they arrived back at the home place one recovered well but the other was walking strangely so she did take it back to the vet. The vet was baffled because all the appropriate equipment had gone as intended and healing was going well, but he was not walking correctly. So vet did blood work, X-rays, MRIs and all the expensive etceteras which cost €3500 (yes, the Euro is used in Guadeloupe) but sister insured both cats. Diagnosis? Stroke. Insurance is paying for rehab. Have you ever suffered a similarity of reaction after castration?

Oh dear, I’ve gone all strange reading this I’ve watched a lot of veterinary shows and they carry out castrations like they were shelling peas. Must be rare to suffer a stroke during the procedure. I hope it recovers. I also had no idea Guadeloupe used the Euro. I’m not even sure where it is?

Male cats? I don’t think it was due to the procedure at all. Cats never really show symptoms if their illness until it is at its worst.

Poor cat, I am so sorry, the stroke was surely caused by the stress. I imagine you use the Euro because Guadeloupe is an overseas department and region of France. I lived in the south of France many years, I had a good friend from Guadaloupe.

the insurance covering rehab for a cat is kinda sweet, and i love that she insured both of them. Gotta say that vet bill would have made me faint...3500 euros is no joke, but im glad he's getting help.
