What Am I Doing For Fun Today? Waiting

United States
November 2, 2026 10:41am CST
Happy Monday and Happy November! Today I'm playing the waiting game. My son is coming to replace the toilet in my primary bathroom. The quick fix from the other day didn't work so it's just easier if he replaces the whole toilet. This current one has been nothing but problems from day one when I bought this house. The only problem is I have no idea what time he'll be here. He has other jobs that come first and he said he'll be here when he can. I just feel bad that he has to come at all since he's more than an hour away and has to spend that time coming here and then an hour going back. Other than that exciting happenings here today not much else is going on. Halloween was a big success and we had a decent amount of kids show up. Yesterday was a bust with the time change. I didn't get that extra hours sleep and woke up the same time I do every morning. The whole day just seemed to drag and I was happy when it was over. Life is back to normal today and although I'm playing the waiting game it really doesn't keep me from doing anything,

I guarantee your son is not bothered by that drive. When my sister and I find out there is something we can do for our dad, we stand straighter, we walk faster, and we are ready and willing to be of aid! I remember my dad was sick a few years ago, and my sister had a medicine his insurance would not pay for. As soon as she heard he needed it, she got in her car and drove the two and half hours to bring it to him. Kids are happily on call for their (good/awesome) parents. That time change seemed to have no effect on me. I wish I had slept later. It would have been nice!

At least it will be fixed at last, and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Hey, at least at the end of the waiting, you will get to see your son, that's good! Have a good day, Marilyn.

The time change did not have a big impact on me or my sleep. I was up a bit later last night anyway watching the football game.

I am thinking we might need a new one too.

Sounds like my kind of monday lol... that toilet has been giving you grief since day one so a full replacement is smart. Your son driving over an hour to fix it is kinda clutch though.

I always get lazy the day after the time change in the fall, an extra hour of sleep does that to me.

The waiting game can be so tedious at times.

We had both our toilets completely replaced about 2 years ago and I LOVE the newer taller ones.
