Firefighters from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS) answered an emergency call on Friday afternoon when a house was on fire. By the time the BHDPS firefighters arrived on scene, they found out that the grandson had saved his grandmother who is 85 years of age out of the window and into a safe place when the firefighters arrived. The BHDPS did go inside the house to see if anybody else was inside the house but thank goodness no one was inside of the house. Both the grandson and his grandmother were taken by an ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. The authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
