Yesturday I bought some Halloween goodies in the sale and I saw small pumpkin ornaments….they were lovely but the stalk part had been painted gold , I have no idea why ! It really put me off, so I didn’t buy them. I thought about it later and regretted not buying them ….im sure The Mister and I can think of something to use to ‘ dirty up ‘ the stalk, to cover the gold. I went to a different branch of the same supermarket this morning , thinking they might have more items in the sale ….how wrong I was ! They actually had nothing at all. How disappointing ! The only thing to do was to go back to the original branch and just hope they had some left….. Yay …. My luck was in …. I got two pumpkin ornaments for 38p each ( approx 51 cents ). They are only the size of a large mug but before packing them away I have tried them on my mantelpiece and they looked lovely. I am happy I went back. Have you ever missed out on buying something in the sales and then regretted it afterwards ?

The gold is supposed to up the fancy I suppose. I've seen it done other places. Glad you found some more. Isn't it called buyer regret or something. It has happened in my life quite a bit actually.

Never heard the phrase ‘ buyer regret ‘ but yes, that’s what it was. Yes, I suppose the gold was to make it look fancy …i just like the natural look. So, what have you regretted not buying in the past ?

Yes, a computer! I saw one for a great price and wanted to get it while it was on sale. My dad said he could find one cheaper. Guess who couldn’t find one cheaper? Then he got all defensive when I pointed out I paid $200 more than I would have if I’d gone with my gut. I was 20, and at that point I still usually trusted someone else more than myself. That changed quickly. From then on, I listened to advice, but went with my gut. Because I shouldn’t have blamed him; I was responsible. I’m so glad you went back and got the pumpkins!

I’m really pleased too. I am so shocked at the price of things here. You know I get freebies and bargains all the time with food etc and so to be able to get ‘ extra’s ‘ in the sale too is a great feeling. I know some folk would laugh and say, why buy something that you can’t use for a year, but I look at it the other way, I can use it forever more for the cost of a few pennies ….

Gold stalks would put me off too, but 38p for two is a steal tbh... wait no. Glad you went back, the mantelpiece pumpkins sound cute and i bet a bit of brown paint fixes the stalk fine.
